Dress Code & Visit Etiquette
Men should wear dhoti-kurta or formal trousers — avoid shorts or western casuals inside the inner sanctum. Women should wear saree, salwar kameez, or churidar with dupatta, and must cover their head before entering the garbha griha.
Non-Hindu visitors are welcome in the outer temple complex. However, entry to the inner sanctum (garbha griha) is restricted to Hindu pilgrims. All other temples on the 15-temple circuit are open to all faiths.
Photography inside the Mahakaleshwar sanctum is strictly prohibited. Photography is permitted in outer areas, the Mahakal Lok corridor, Jantar Mantar observatory, and Kalideh Palace.
Yes — most temples have a footwear counter outside, but small bags are useful between adjacent temples. EzyDarshan drivers know all temple parking and footwear deposit points.
